Columbia Has Made Me Feel Like I Matter

I am a graduate of Columbia College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Volunteering at Columbia is a way to give back to the institution that has given me three really important things in my life: love, friendship and a “tough as nails” mentor.

I met my future husband during orientation in my freshman year at Columbia College. I met my best girl friend here and we all know how difficult it is to find those. She is like my little sister.

I am thankful to my mentor because I know how to write and I know how to think because of him. He has taught me the skills that have translated into a job that I never thought I could get.

I volunteer because Columbia has made me feel like I matter.
